Proud Sponsors of Ms South Yorkshire Galaxy

We are very proud to announce that one of our own from the admin team is currently in the UK pursuing her dreams of being a pageant girl.  It is an honour to sponsor her on her journey to the crown.  She will be taking part in the finals in March 2018 representing her home county of South Yorkshire. From now until March she is also raising money for The Christie charity.  As stated on their website this charity supports the development of cancer prevention, treatment, research and education through investment in staff, equipment, facilities and other support services. They do this by making grants to The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, and, occasionally to other related bodies.  As so many people are affected by cancer this is an amazing charity to support.  If you would like to help then you can donate directly to the charity through Emma's fundraising page by clicking here.  The money she raises will go towards the first Proton Beam Therapy Centre in the UK.  An amazing cause that we would ask all our clients to give whatever they can to support. And good luck to Emma that she brings home the crown and goes on to Orlando, Florida to compete in the International Galaxy Pageant.  We are all routing for you.

Renovation

We are very excited to announce the renovation of our Marbella office.  We endeavour to make sure this makes as little disruption as possible.  We apologise for any inconvenience, however, we are sure you will love the new look. We will share before and after photos once work is complete. Again, apologies for any inconvenience.

How to Keep Your House Clean and Organized

First thing is to always make your bed after you get up, that way your bedroom will always look nice when you come home.

Always wipe down the kitchen sides straight after breakfast, lunch and dinner.  That way you will avoid build up of dirt that will take longer to remove the longer it is left.  Also if you use a dishwasher then you can always empty this as your waiting for the kettle to boil while making a drink.  That way it is always empty ready for the next load.

To avoid piles and piles of papers everywhere, make sure you only keep the things you really need.  Get a file for your bills that you can put away in a cupboard after you have paid them.  Any newspapers and magazines you have read put in the recycling.  Also keep a file if you have any fliers you want to keep eg. your local take away, don´t leave them piled up in a corner.

Be sure to buy TV Stands, computer tables etc with spaces to hide the cables, this is a quick way to keep your rooms looking more organized.

As soon as you arrive home hang up your coat and put away your bag and shoes, that way you will save having to do it later and also stop you from ending up with a pile of clothes laying around and falling over your shoes.

Find boxes that you can store under beds, chairs, tables etc to keep things out of the way and make your home look less cluttered.

If you don´t have a dishwasher then as you are cooking, clean as you finish using something.  You will have more space to continue with cooking and less dishes to wash after eating.

Organize your food so it is easier to get to.  For example keep oil and other things you use for cooking near to the cooker.  Keep fruits etc in the same area and dry foods in the same area.  This will help to get to items easier and remember where things are.

Don´t leave towels lying around on the floors or surfaces, always hang them up to keep your bathroom looking clean.

Keep all your beauty products organized.  Ones that you use often keep in a drawer or cupboard that is easy to get to and ones that you use less often can go further back.  Always put them away when you have finished with them.

Lastly the night before always pick out your outfits.  This way you save time the next morning looking for that perfect outfit and leaving a mess as you try to find it in a hurry.

Do you have any more ideas or things you do to keep your home tidy?

Tips For Brightening a Dark Living Area.

If you find your living area really dull and not very bright, here are some tips to help brighten in up.

The first really simple and easy change is to paint all your walls white.  You want to keep the floors and walls simple and light.  Stick to white and beige for your floors and walls.

You want to keep the furniture bright as well so if you are at a point where you can redecorate then chose a light colour sofa and storage units.  If you are not wanting to change your furniture then you can always buy a light coloured throw for your sofa to brighten it up.

Try to not put high furniture if you can as that way you can use the empty wall space to bounce light around the room.

If you don´t get much natural light then use halogen lamps as they are a similar effect to having the sunlight inside.  If you can, do not use curtains on the windows, leave it open to let as much light in as possible. If you need a curtain then it is best to use a roller blind as when it is open it does not obstruct any of the window.

Also make sure nothing is blocking the windows, get rid on any clutter on the window sills.  You can also see when the light comes through and check if there are any pieces of furniture, plants or anything else blocking light then relocate these to another part of the room.

Lastly you can put up mirrors to multiply the light around the room.

Do you have any other ideas to create more light to a room?  Let us know in the comments.

How to Adapt Your House When Two Becomes Three

So as the Kids are going back to school we thought we would do a post on how to adapt your house when expecting a baby.  Perhaps you would like to buy a bigger home but are not sure if it is necessary or not.  What you should be looking at is a good outdoor area, a good space for the day and more storage.

It would be wise to create a good kitchen area to make space for when you will be using a high chair, and also since the kitchen is generally the heart of any home where a lot of time is spent.  Think about connecting the kitchen and dining area to make a bigger space and also you can use this extra space to keep an eye on the little one while you are busy doing other things in the kitchen.  You can also now buy high chairs that will adapt as the child grows.  This way you can keep eating times in the kitchen/dining area at all times to keep the living area clean.

When it comes to the living room you will need as much space as possible as you will most likely have play mats etc on the floor.  If you don´t have much space then try sacrificing some space from an adjoining room.  Get rid of any old furniture that you no longer need and have a good clear out to get rid of any clutter.  Remember children will grab and try and get hold of anything and everything so put any objects you don´t want broken high up.  You want a layout where you can keep your eyes on the little one, keep areas as open as possible. There are also sofas now that come with two covers with the top one being machine washable.  Perfect for when you have a little one and may have some accidents on there.   Avoid tables with glass and buy furniture with rounded edges rather than pointed edges.  If you have any bookcases make sure you screw them to the wall, as the child grows you want to avoid accidents where they may grab onto things and pull themselves to stand up, you don´t want furniture falling on them.  If you have lights that are low down, use led lights as they are cool to the touch.

Remember when choosing a bedroom for your child that they grow quick so it is wise to pick furniture that will be versatile and can be used for several ages.  It needs to be bright and cheerful and you will want it to be close to your own room so its easy to check on them at night and so you can hear them if they need you.  Once again storage is key as children tend to end up with lots of toys especially around Christmas and birthdays.  Look for cots/beds with storage underneath.  Chairs with storage built in and good shelving units.

For flooring try to use softer materials for when the child is playing on the floor and also when the child starts crawling.  Think about using a rug on the area where you think they will spend the most time.

If you have a big garden perhaps you want to section of a part of it just for the children, that way you can keep and eye on them but still give them the freedom of moving around and playing.  Try to use solid chairs rather than folding chairs.  Again keep the area clean and not overgrown so you easily maintain it while you are busy with the little one.  If you have a pool then you should perhaps fence it off to avoid any accidents and also if you have a driveway then put a gate between the drive and the garden.  This way when your child is old enough and starts running they do not run off into the driveway in front of a moving car.

So that is it, just some basics on preparing your house for a new addition.  Remember, your time will be mostly with them so you need to plan your space to be easy to maintain and move around.
