Two projects to extend the paseo - Rio Real to El Cable and Manilva to Nerja.  Read on to find out about both projects:

The first project is from Rio Real to El Cable beach: Marbella City Council continues its goal of expanding the promenade to the east of the county with the tender coastal path in the stretch run along El Cable Beach. Councilman Worker, Javier García, recalled that the enhancement of the promenade and the extension thereof "has been one of the priorities of the government team to provide a first-class infrastructure for both tourists and residents." Specifically, the City has launched a "mega-project" to connect with The Rio Real Playa Bajadilla by four sections, one of which, the second running from Arroyo Pozuelo, "is nearly finished," he assured. The second phase would be just out to tender with a budget of 600,000 euros and an implementation period of five months. Specifications set October 29 as the deadline for submission of tenders. Subsequently, the City will undertake the other two sections, which runs from Arroyo Pozuelo to Rio Real which is 800 meters and 900,000 euros of investment-and Rio Real, with 640 meters and an economic value of 500,000 euros.     The Second is a bigger project linking the coastline from Manilva to Nerja:
The Coastal Path linking the coastline from Manilva to Nerja have a budget of 30 million euros and a completion period of 5 years. Bendodo Elijah announces that access will be located at each end at the Balcon de Europa in Nerja and Puerto Duquesa Manilva. Currently working on over 17 miles in different sections, most notably the way to La Cala de Mijas on the beach Cabopino. The budgets for 2015 include EUR 4 million for the project. The Coastal Path of Malaga province, a project led by the County Council and has the support of the 14 coastal municipalities, the Junta de Andalucía, the central government and associations, will have a budget of 30 million euros and a period run five years. It will enable you to get from Manilva to Nerja, walk or bike through 180 miles of shoreline. This was announced by President Elias Bendodo, after a meeting with officials of Urban Development and technicians of the General Directorate of Coasts and the Junta de Andalucía to analyze the development of actions councils involved. This connection is already underway in many of its sections -with 400 in total. Specifically, they are working on over 17 miles: 3.9 miles in Estepona, 700 meters in Marbella, Mijas 6 mile, 1.6 in Fuengirola, 900 meters in Rincon de la Victoria and 3.4 kilometers in Velez. Within 15 days should start work on a stretch of Torrequebrada (Benalmadena) of a mile. Bendodo stressed that the Coastal Path is not a new track, it will connect the existing structures (boardwalks, paths, trails) and build new links provided in coordination with other competent institutions. The Council shall include in the budget of 2015 4 million euros for the project. Accesses to the Coastal Path will be located in the Balcon de Europa in Nerja, "which gives the project a clear tourism identity," according Bendodo; and the port of La Duquesa Manilva. The Council developed this project for several months "and has had a good reception and unanimous across the province," he concluded. 75% of the coastline is already walkable Bendodo reported that 75% of the Malaga coastline is already passable, through existing infrastructure. Therefore the pending proceedings remaining 25%, about 40 km. It is a long-term project as evidenced by their deadline of five years and not without difficulty, as there are more complicated than others for the unification of the way the coast stretches. "The Coastal Path is itself a major tourist resort because it can really go from Nerja to Manilva on foot or by bicycle, and this opens up alternative business opportunities for promotion and for our business, hotels, catering business, sports or active tourism, "explained Bendodo.
